‘Yu Stew
Modern senryus¹ for seekers
Imagine how much
trust there would be if people
would only speak truth
–
Is there enough sense
for consensus among us?
Polls set us apart
–
This notion of “ours”
versus “theirs” has gone too far
Land and life are let
–
A topknot does not
make ought of enlightenment
Be more than a ‘do
–
Sensemaking asks us
to bottle jarring concepts
in our craniums
–
Words give directions
Preface and about-face are
forewords and back-words
–
Takes less energy
to go fully fossil free
than fricking fracking
–
Some terms set limits
to our growth and awareness
Mindroll,² not mindset
- Senryu (SEHN-ree-you) is a haiku-like poem traditionally focused on cynical or satirical musings about human nature
- Mindrolling (MIN-drolling) or “ripening liberation,” alludes to where your mind is, and the practice of cultivating its transformation. From the Tibetan Buddhist Mindrolling lineage. A beautiful explanation of mindrolling by H.E. Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche can be found here: www.lotusgardens.org/news/emw-what-is-mindrolling/
